Each Sunday or Monday night during football season, you can find us at our Packer bar, The Mustard Seed Grill & Pub in Newport Hills, WA with our fellow Packer Backers rooting for the team. Come on by and have a great time with the best Packer Fans in Washington!! Watch our video taken at the Packers – Seahawks Tailgate Party during the preseason game in Seattle. Season Wrap Up!

The Club had a great season! We had a record 95 Sponsors sign up and we donated almost $4,000 in cash and needed supplies to soldiers overseas in Afghanistan.

The the Club made two donations to two separate charities, a $750 donation went to Ballard Food Bank , and $2500 went  to the Christmas House.

Ballard Food Bank is a community-based organization that provides services to neighbors in crisis, limited only by the support and contributions of the Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne communities. They ask donors and volunteers to think of their support not as helping “Ballard Food Bank”, but as helping their neighbors in need. Ballard Food Bank is simply the agency that facilitates the delivery of their help to those sometimes-disenfranchised persons that live in our neighborhood.

The Christmas House provides children in need gifts and clothing during the holiday season. The Club has donated over $13,000 in the past to Christmas House and we were glad to help  them again! Thanks again to all who are generous in these endeavors! We are always looking for Member input and suggestions on other organizations to help out. Let the Club know your thoughts!

. Check back during the off season as there will be notices of off season meetings and Club social gatherings. Have a great off season!!!

A Book To Check Out

Hey Packer Fans,
Your Prez here. Below is an email we received from a fellow Packer fan who has written a book I think you may find interesting. Please read on and check out the links. We don’t often promo people or sites directly on the NWPB page but Jerry and I thought this was a unique case and Linda has shared in our NWPB experience. It also might make a great Christmas gift too!

Cheers,
G

This is Linda Lange. I don’t know if you’ll remember me, but I partied with the Northwest Packer Backers on two occasions several years ago when I was in Seattle visiting my son — once at the Mustard Seed and once in a snowy parking lot before a game at Qwest Field.

I’m e-mailing to tell you that I wrote a Packer-themed book, and I hope you’ll share that news with the club. “Incomplete Passes: Reflections on Life, Love, and Football” is a memoir about four Green Bay women whose 50-year friendship started because of their mutual infatuation with the Packers. Since the late 1990s, we’ve returned to Wisconsin annually to renew our ties and take in a game. The book is full of Green Bay atmosphere and Packers history, but it also has universal themes such as coming of age, reconnecting with friends, and coping with aging. It should have appeal for anyone who loves the Packers, but especially for female fans.

You can check the book out on amazon.com or bn.com:

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/incomplete-passes-linda-lange/1105119639?ean=9781462033744&itm=1&usri=incomplete%2bpasses

or through my website at www.incompletepasses.com. I also have a Facebook page for “Incomplete Passes.”

My son still lives in Seattle, but unfortunately I have no plans to vist there any time soon. However, I’d be happy to mail you a copy if you’d like to raffle it off at one of your events. Please let me know whether you want it, and where to send it, at incompletepasses@yahoo.com.

I think you have a terrific fan club — wish we had a group like that here in Cincinnati, my current home. I hope to see you all again in the not-too-distant future. Thanks for your interest in “Incomplete Passes.”

Sincerely,

Linda Lange
